| Goldfish Kanten Jelly Dessert |
I made this Japanese kanten jelly about 2 weeks back. Inspired by recipe I saw on Rakuten, I tried making a fish theme jelly dessert.
Japanese kanten jelly is somewhat similar to our agar agar jelly, with the texture slightly softer. It is extremely easy to make, and the cleaning is a breeze. Great for whipping up some sweet snacks at home.
Kanten powder is available in Singapore at Mediya Supermarket, which is located at Liang Court basement. I have not checked if Isetan carries them here, if they do, let me know in your comments below :)
Kanten powder is derived from seaweed and has a high fibre content (don't worry, the jelly don't taste like seaweed). It is considered a very healthy snack in Japan. The commercially available Japanese kanten powder comes in individual packs of 4g each, making the recipe preparation very convenient.
