Inspiration for today's bento was from my soup creation for the review of the Bento&co Original Soup Cup.
I wanted to make a simple miso vegetable soup with cute fish carrot cut outs to pack into the soup cup. A cat character would be a perfect match right!
Plus I have these super cute tiny fish furikake (rice toppings), nice match! :) I placed 3 of them in a row on my tamagoyaki (japanese egg omelette roll).
アイデアはスープからです。味噌汁作って、魚形の人参を添えました。ネコのキャラクターと魚はよく合いますね。小さなお魚はふりかけの中に入っていた小さなチップです。可愛いね！

Today's Black Kitty Bento is served with broccolini, grilled salmon filet, cucumber, dashi-maki tamago, cherry tomato and lettuce, plus of course my miso vegetable soup.
おかずは：焼き鮭、ブロッコリン、レタス、キュウリ、トマト、卵焼き。

Miso Vegetable Soup (1 pax serving)

Miso Vegetable Soup (1 pax serving)
- 200ml dashi stock
- 1tbsp Cabbage strips
- 1tbsp Carrot strips
- 1tbsp Daikon strips
- 1tbsp Miso Paste
- 1 tbsp tofu squares
- Japanese spring onion *optional
2) Add in the miso paste, use a strainer to prevent clumps. Simmer for additional 30 seconds.
3) Lastly, before serving add in the tofu squares and japanese spring onion.

Looks/Finishing/Make
First of all, I am a huge fan of white color (partly because I love Apple haha), so I really like the color of this soup cup! It bears a classy Bento&co logo in the front. Overall, very chic chic~~ :)
I am also quite particular about quality so the fact that this is made by Tiger, a Japan brand known for its kitchen appliances and isothermal mugs gives me the assurance. More so if one is packing hot food!
Size
The size is perfect for one adult ladies serving, if your Man is having only soup for his lunch then this may be too small for him. It holds about 250ml of soup.
Usage
It is pretty versatile cause other than soup, you can actually packed other hot liquid food... stew or curry will be great too.
This Bento&co Original Soup Cup promises to keep your food nice and hot for up to 6 hours. I tested it! boiled my soup at about 6am, packed it in and when I had it for lunch, it was still nicely warmed!
So... I have another isothermal mug, should I get this?
Frankly I do have other isothermal mugs too. The difference is that this size is more ideal for me if I intend to pack soup alongside my bento. The other one I possess is rather tall and large (which I use only if I want a huge soup serving, e.g. if I am having only soup or liquids for my meal).
In addition, this Bento&co Soup Cup has got a wide mouth so it is much easier for me to eat/drink the soup/liquid and scoop things out.
