お赤飯のお弁当 Seikihan Bento |
お赤飯をはじめて作りました。クックパッドのレスピに参考しました。
小豆ともち米を煮ました。器に盛りごま塩をふって食べる、美味しい!
Today's bento has a celebratory mood as it contains osekihan (sekihan), which is a traditional Japanese rice dish made from sticky mochi rice and azuki beans (red beans), giving it the beautiful red hue. Its colour is symbolic of happiness.
I first saw a Japanese friend eating this and have wanted to make this too. I refer to a popular recipe at Cookpad to make this, not difficult but definitely a good recipe as it allowed me to cook the beans such that they remained whole (not split open), hence, looks pretty for the bento.
Depending on the region in Japan, some recipe calls for sugar to be added while others is served with salt and sesame. Yummy!
Hope you like this oseikihan bento. :D
