やつチキンラーメンという商品のパッケージのひよこちゃんを作りました。チキンラーメンのひよこちゃんのキャラベンですよ。おかずは：椎茸ソテー、レタス、紫キャベツ、ブロッコリー。

I received a super kawaii chicken plush toy (Hiyoko) gift from a friend who visited Japan. Hiyoko is the lovable chicken mascot of Nissin Chicken Ramen.
Do you know Hiyoko or Nissin's Instant Chicken Ramen?
From Nissin's website, one will read that back in 1958, Nissin had introduced "Chicken Ramen", the first instant ramen. Ironically, it was considered a luxury item, since Japanese grocery stores sold fresh Japanese noodles (udon) at one-sixth the cost of the instant ramen noodles. How interesting...
I personally have fond memories as a child sneaking to the convenience stores to eat Nissin cup noodles. I would save up my pocket money for cup noodles! :P

Do you know that in Yokohama you can even visit the Nissin Cup Noodles Museum! I want to go there someday!
The museum (website here) is also one of the most popular amongst visitors/tourists, one of its popular exhibits is the Cup Noodles Factory, where visitors can choose their own cup, soup and toppings to create a unique new flavor, and the Chicken Ramen Factory, where you can try whipping up the noodles by hand.
Anyway, today's bento inspiration is based on Hiyoko, hope you enjoy this 'instant chicken ramen bento'. A mini ramen bowl was packed together in the breakfast sandwich bento!
