Continuing with my excitement of the story book theme :P I decided to make a storybook theme deco butter cookies too!
Baked the deco cookies on Saturday night! The Princess & Frog Prince deco butter cookies were really fun!
先週の土曜日にデコクッキーを作りました。王女とかえるの王さまですよ！楽しかったです。バタークッキーが美味しかったです。よかったですね。

Another bento creation to add to my storybook bento series ;) The Frog Prince Bento!
The side dishes were sweet and spicy baked chicken, mayo prawns, broccoli, lettuce, cucumber.
Ingredients for the characters were
Frog Prince (rice, fried tofu kin, green deco furikake, maccha powder, ham, seaweed, black sesame)
Princess (rice, fried tofu skin, seaweed, ham, fried dough)
かえるの王さまのキャラベンを作りました。おかず：チキンの甘辛焼き、マヨ海老、ブロッコリー、レタス、キュウリ。
キャラクターの部分
かえるの王さま （飯、油揚げ、デコふりかけ、抹茶パウダー、ハム、海苔、黒ゴマ）
王女（飯、油揚げ、海苔、ハム、あられ）

It has been quite interesting since I started my storybook theme bento creations. It has gotten me to read up on the background and storyline of many fairytales and in the process, discovering some really interesting information.
Many of us who grew up with some western influence, often have the Disney's variations of the fairy tale stories, which differs slightly from the earlier versions of the fairy tale.
In this case, it seems like the spoiled princess actually broke the curse not by kissing the frog (Disney's rendition), but by throwing the frog against the wall in disgust! Hmm... sound pretty scary for children.
かえるの王さまのグリム童話を読みました。面白いですね！カエルにキスをすることで魔法が解けるのではなくカエルを壁に叩きつけるというバージョンも見られる。あれ！カエルを壁に叩きつける、本当は恐ろしいグリム童話ーー
