I was really happy that I made it to see the Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto during my trip. The Kinkakuji Temple is one of the major temples in Kyoto is recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The temple building covered entirely in gold and surrounded by a large pond is stunning. On calm days, you will see the reflection in the waters. Unfortunately, the day I was there, it was rather windy. Nonetheless, the view of the golden temple building was still amazing.

京都で金閣寺を見られて、よかったんですよ!本当に綺麗ですね。金色の金閣寺はすごいです。皆さん、行ったことがありますか?

As you continue the walk in the gardens, it will lead you to Sekketai Teahouse, where you can enjoy traditional green tea with a traditional sweet (wagashi) at the tea garden.

I have heard about this teahouse so much that I had to pay a visit.

金閣寺の中にある、せっかていのお茶室があります。行ったんです。お茶もおいしいし、公園も綺麗です。みなさん、行ってみてください。お抹茶セットは500円ですよ。

The tea set was simple but definitely worth a visit if you enjoy traditional matcha drink. The tea garden is also beautiful and perfect as a rest stop before completing the walk around the gardens.

The matcha tea was smooth and fragrant. The japanese sweet, served together really complimented the tea really well. Since we were at Kinkakuji, even the wagashi sweet had a small gold flake on it! It was priced at 500 yen for a set like the picture above.
