French Toast Bento

So proud of myself!! haha. I made this entire bento in 30mins, with washing-up included!

Decided to pack a  breakfast french toast bento today since I had some leftover bread. I topped it with strawberries, snow sugar and 2 cute bear cut-outs. 

I made little sunflowers from egg sheet and sausages at the side and a serving of oranges to go along with the bento. 

I remembered getting all excited when my mother made french toast. I really loved the eggy and sweet taste, coupled with the softness of the bread. Do you also like french toast? 

今日は簡単なくまのがっこうのキャラベンですよ。フレンチトーストを作りました。子供の時、母がフレンチトーストを作ってくれて、とても嬉しかったです。美味しいね~

キャラベンは熊さん形のパンを添えました。向日葵は薄焼き卵とソーセージを使いました。

くまのがっこうのキャラベン・フレンチトーストのお弁当
What is perfect about french toast for bento is that you can prepare the night before and cook it in the morning. So quick and easy. If done well, it is still delicious when its cooled. 

フレンチトーストのレツピは簡単です。皆さん、作ってみてください。

French Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
2 thick toast slices
1 medium size egg
60 ml milk
1/2 tbsp fine sugar
Small cube of butter
Snow sugar
Strawberries (or other fruits you fancy)

Method:
(the night before)
- Cut your bread slice into smaller bite size pieces or in quarters. In my case I used cutters to create heart-shape cut outs
- In a bowl, beat 1 egg and add in sugar and milk
- Throw in the bread pieces and soak them on both sides, letting the egg mixture 'penetrate' the bread
- Place the bread pieces in a ziplock bag, lay it flat on a tray/plate and set it in your chiller overnight
(in the morning)
- Heat a small cube of butter in a non stick pan
- Cook the bread pieces on low heat until nicely brown on both sides
- Serve with strawberries and dust on some snow sugar. You can also drizzle on some honey and add whipped cream if you fancy. 

フレンチトーストのレツピ
材料 (1人分)
食パン(6枚切り)2枚
卵1個
牛乳60cc
砂糖大さじ 0.5
バター小さじ1
粉砂糖 適量
イチゴ 適量

(1) ボウルに卵、牛乳、砂糖を入れてよく混ぜます。
(2) 4~6つに切った食パンを約1分間浸します。
(3) ジッパー付きの袋にパンと卵液を入れて一晩置く。
(4) フライパンを熱し、バターを溶かします。
(5) 食パンを入れ、フタをして約1~2分間、弱火で焼きます。
(6) 片面が色づいたらひっくり返します。
(7) できあがり♪粉砂糖をふりかけても。イチゴを添えます。
