Thanks to my Japanese good friend, Mayu chan, I was introduced to Genki Sushi in Singapore. Genki Sushi is a kaiten sushi restaurant from Japan.
Yes, Genki Sushi is back and has re-established its brand here in Singapore, and its new kaiten restaurant outlets has a really cool high tech conveyer belt system, where your orders arrive at your table on a long tray shaped as racing car on the Koushoku track!
I had so much fun with it and I wish I could eat more, so that I can see my orders coming on the super cool Koushoku track!
I must also say that the sushi standard has greatly improved! I really enjoyed a number of dishes, and definitely will return for me.
What strikes me the most is the super easy and (again high tech) ordering system. Each table is handed a IPad where you can place your orders. If you select certain marked items, it even allows you a lucky draw! I was lucky enough and got a 10% off my total bill! How awesome!
The place has queues for dinner everytime I visited, so try to be a little early or you might need to wait a little!
The outlet featured in this post is their Orchard Central store.
Some of the sushi items I really enjoyed were the sea eel (whole) $5.80, shrimp triple flavour $3.80, edo style egg $2.30 and grilled corn $2.30! Their crab chawamushi was really good too!
As you can see, the prices are super value for money. The menu starts at $1.80 and the highest price item is at only $7.80!
I hope you will enjoy this place. Oh yes, I think if you have children, they are going to be really thrilled seeing their food sent over on the racing car trays!
