The Audacious Cakery at Everton Park

The hipster quotient has certainly heightened at Everton Park with the opening of several quaint cafes.

One of which that has gained much attention and following amongst the bloggers is The Audacious Cakery. Helmed by pastry chef, Sharryl Ng, this  bakery and dessert restaurant sells beautiful exquisite and yummy cakes and desserts.

Lucky me, I just stay across the street~~ the Everton Park area is increasingly becoming one of my favourite weekend spots and hangout places.

For those who worry about getting here, don't be. This place is very accessible, it is within 5 mins walking from Outram Park train station exit E. Just walk up the slope next to the police station and cross the traffic junction and you will find yourself at Everton Park.

The restaurant has a really warm and bright feel, with mainly white and modern wood furnishing. I always love places that welcome lots of sunshine into their store.

There are in total six tables, 2 seaters. Spotted that they do have some stools for those who want to seat 3 - I would think only be for the two alfresco tables since the indoor store space is pretty small.

There was only one staff around when I visited but service was good. They also serve water, foc too if you only want to have their cakes. Something that I appreciate these days. (personal pet peeve- dislike it when restaurant charge for water)
There are a wide variety of cakes, tarts and mousse. So you are bound to find something that you like.

In the two visits with my camera, I ordered and tried Faith, Zacharie and their Lemon Meringue.

Faith $6.80 (a mousse based cake of green tea and black sesame topped with some chocolate bits). This green tea mousse cake taste amazing! Being a matcha fan, I am always very particular that the matcha fragrance is not lost, and this one really made the mark. The mousse texture also makes this cake so amazingly light and easy on the palate.

Big big thumbs up for this!

Zacharie $7.80
A mango passionfruit cheese mousse with a mango passionfruit centre on a ginger biscuit base. The mango fragrance was bursting from this mousse cake! They managed to keep the tangy zest with the mango passionfruit flavour so this cheese mousse was not too sweet.

If you are seeking for the very sweet taste of ripe mangoes then you might find this a tad tangy.

The ginger biscuit base was amazing and gives that needed balance in taste when eaten together with the top cheese mousse layer.

The texture of the mousse was slightly heavier than Faith, not surprising since this is cheese based.

Lemon Meringue Tart $5.80. I love the buttery crust but the rich lemon curd filling was too sour for me, even when paired with the meringue and crust.

If you like a dessert with a strong tangy flavour and can take more sour flavours, you might like this.

I definitely prefer Faith over this Lemon Meringue tart though.

I will definitely be back to try out more of their cakes. This place is definitely worth a visit and re-visits! :)
