I have been wanting to make this Sakura Tree Sushi Art Roll (kazarimaki sushi) for some time and so happy that I did it today. What I wished I did was to make the pink colour more obvious. Perhaps adding more oboro (pink fish meat) and additional pink sushi mix to bring out the pink color.
I hope you like this Sakura Tree Sushi Art Roll Bento. The side dishes were baked salmon, garlic mushrooms, sautéed asparagus, cucumber with peanut sauce, lettuce, edamame beans and sakura mochi.

As it is the sakura season in Japan now, beautiful cherry blossoms are everywhere. The photographs I have seen online were all so mesmerising!! Gosh wish I am now in Japan to enjoy hanami!
Back here in Singapore, we also have our own glimpses of spring! With the recent blooming of flowering trees following the dry spell, several trees across the island are now literally covered with pink flowers. So beautiful!!
