Another toast art bento - this time it is Kakashi Hatake Toast Art! Hope you like this Kakashi Hatake Bento!

Kakashi Hatake is a character from the manga/anime series Naruto & Naruto Shippuden, he was Naruto's teacher and is one of the strongest ninja in the Leaf village. He is known for his Sharingan powers and also uses ninken

He remains as one of my favorite characters in the Naruto manga and anime!

The technique use in today's toast art bento is similar to my earlier Luffy Bento recipe (here).

You can also take a look at the brief guide below :)

The side dishes for this breakfast bento included sauteed garlic shiitake mushrooms, otah, cucumber, lettuce, strawberries, pumpkin, sweet peas.

I also made the ninja weapons to include in the bento (cute right? heh). They were kunai and shuriken. Made of bread, I cut the bread into the desired shapes and toasted them in the oven till nicely browned :)

Today's bento was packed into my Blum+Co Sandwich Box from Bento&co.

Brief Recipe Guide for Kakashi Hatake Toast Art

*for more tips, visit Luffy Bento Recipe here as a guide.

Ingredients
- White bread (multigrain and wholewheat bread not recommended as you want a smooth surface to work on. Bread with a lot of large or uneven air pockets is also not good for the same reason - over here I use sliced white bread from Sun Moulin. The other one I would recommend is Snow Blanc from Four Leaves bakery)
- Margarine
- Cocoa powder
- Chocolate sauce
- Red/Yellow/Black food coloring *I used wilton icing colors

Tools
- Butter knife
- Fine brushes

Method
1) Spread a thin and even layer of margarine on the bread slice. This helps create a base for you to work your design on.
Tip: if your design will cover almost the entire slice of bread, please spread the margarine all the way to the sides.
2) In a small bowl, add some cocoa powder. Then squeeze in some chocolate sauce at the side. Mix some of the cocoa powder (not all) with the chocolate sauce so that the chocolate sauce will have a thicken consistency.
3) Using your finest brush, use the thicken chocolate sauce from step 2 and draw the outlines. You will have to constantly dip the chocolate sauce and draw, to complete a longer line. Sometimes at some parts where the lines do not join, you can use a dabbing action so that the chocolate sauce will adhere to the bread.
4) Next, fill in your illustration with the various powders/coloring. Over here, I use cocoa powder for the 'shading' and chocolate sauce for the darker part for Kakashi. Red and Yellow food coloring (just very little) was used for the book, and some diluted black coloring (hence becoming grey) for the dog.
5) Now you are done! Pack this fun toast art into your bento or simply have them as a snack!
